Flashback

The 1955 Coopersville Observer featured our farm as the “Mystery Farm.” The caption states that the first person living within the village limits of C’ville who correctly identifies the farm will receive a one dollar credit. The person residing at the farm may call the office and will be given a free 5x7 photograph. Remember - no calls before 8:00 AM on Saturday.

Still Kickin'

I’m still here, alive and well. I didn’t flee to some place sunny with warmer temperatures. The warmer temps found me, at last. How was your Easter? Mine was lovely; just as it should be. We hosted an Easter Egg Hunt for the nephews. Pictured is some of the loot. I’m not sure who has more fun; us, or the kids, although I’ve got a pretty good idea. ;)

Darn cat. I’ll be back soon. The daffodils thawed out and I’ve got the photos to prove it.

3.20.10

Imagine you’re a daffodil. You’re slowly waking from a long, restful winter nap. For weeks the sun’s been coaxing you from your slumber. You stretch, yawn and rise. It’s now March 20th. The calendar states it’s the first day of spring. Debut day is here and you wake to find your stage covered in snow. You wonder why on earth you ever left your bed in the first place. Somebody cue the birds, sun, and blue sky. Pretty please.

Flashback

Remember the book of old postcards I mentioned last Friday? Well, I thought I’d go ahead and publish one. According to the postmark, most of ‘em are a hundred years old and better. This was one of the more amusing ones. Have a lovely weekend.

Families are like fudge...

...mostly sweet with a few nuts.
