Impromptu

Klynt snapped these on Saturday. My sister requested a few pics for the holidays; you know, for Christmas cards and such. It was a bit last-minute, however the Baker’s aim to please and this is what we came up with.

Viv wanted in on the action. :)

Oh My Darlin'

Clementine is one, OnE, oNe, ONE, 1! Now what's a first birthday without a purple, gum-drop covered inchworm cake? Or as Kimberly calls 'em - "spice-drops." Kimberly is my long-time friend, and as you might have already guessed, Clementine is her daughter. There. Now you're in the loop. :)

Suite Seats and Sideline Passes

Not a shabby way to watch the Bearcats go 10-0 for the first time in school history.

Sunday, Sunday

Morning sunshine was pouring through the kitchen window and there was a toasty fire in the woodstove. The events of the weekend were being discussed over a cup o' coffee and sweet rolls. You get the idea.

The Other Man

I can’t seem to get enough of the man in the moon. We had a lot of catching up to do. I told him he just doesn’t quite look like the same fella on the other side of the world.

Funny Farm

The old farmhouse was demolished some time ago. When I was a kid it was used to house people assigned to a work-release program. Some had a criminal record, but as far as I know, none did anything too serious. Many worked in the barn, which is still standing and was recently restored, while others would stock the general store with hand-made items. There was a nice selection of treats and my Grandma would let me get candy cigarettes whenever we stopped by for a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread. Grandma is the one who dubbed it the “Funny Farm” and to this day I still don’t know its proper name. I’m not sure what the barn is currently used for, but the acres of land have been converted into a county park with marked trails for walking or, if you have a horse, riding. On Saturday, after weeks of rain and just plain dreary weather, the skies cleared, and the temps were mild. Klynt and I grabbed our walking shoes and set out to enjoy the morning.

This Girl

*****

This girl is happy to be home. The smile just won’t go away. The past few months have had a bit of a whirlwind feel to ‘em but that’s quite alright. For those of you who are confused and are in need of a little clarification as to why I’m so pleased to be home, you can read all about my life in the fast-lane here. For the rest of you; hello again!
